Variations to inventory terms of listing introduced for 2-methoxyethyl methacrylate and 2-ethoxyethyl methacrylate

An obligation to provide specific information to Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS) will be added to the terms of listing for 2-methoxyethyl methacrylate and 2-ethoxyethyl methacrylate on the Australian Inventory of Industrial Chemicals (Inventory). AICIS concluded recently that a variation to the Inventory terms of listing for these chemicals is necessary to manage the risks from the introduction of these chemicals. It is mandatory now to inform Executive Director the volume of introduction, use and end use of these chemical within 20 working days if the chemical is being introduced for consumer end use (exception included). These chemicals are mainly used in ocean coating, biological material, and paper making industries, as monomer or comonomer for solution polymerization or suspends polymerization.
