Changes to completeness checks of REACH registrations

January 23, 2023

In accordance with Article 20(2) of the REACH Regulation, ECHA performs a completeness check on each incoming registration.

ECHA will begin comparing new registrations and modifications to existing ones with the updated specifications as of May 1, 2023.

So, people who want to register should be ready for the changes, since registrations that were sent in before might no longer pass the check for completeness.

The updated and new checks relate to:

  • Making sure that the boundary composition of a substance is always and correctly identified.
  • Based on the information requirements in Annex VII-XI, registrants are helped to provide information for endpoints related to mutagenicity, degradation, and aquatic toxicity.
