On September 02, 2022, ECHA added 2,2',6,6'-tetrabromo-4,4'-isopropylidenediphenol into its substances of very high concern (SVHC) identification list as per the proposal of Norway. The chmical is reactive and used as additive flame retardant. The chemical is being claimed to be carcinogenic. Public comments are sought till October 17, 2022.
