On September 02, 2022, ECHA added Bis(2-ethylhexyl) tetrabromophthalate, its monomers and combinations into its substances of very high concern (SVHC) identification list as per the proposal of Sweden. These substances are used in flame retardant applications. The chemical is being claimed to be very persistent and very bioaccumulative (vPvB). Public comments are sought till October 17, 2022.
