On September 02, 2022, ECHA added Perfluoroheptanoic acid and its salts into its substances of very high concern (SVHC) identification list as per the proposal of Netherlands. The substances are used as industrial surfactants in chemical processes. The chemical is being claimed to be very reprotoxic, an endocrine disruptor, potentially posing serious adverse effects on human health and environment. Public comments are sought till October 17, 2022.
