EU: Methylene dithiocyanate not approved for use as an active substance in biocidal products

On October 21, 2022, European Commission Implementing Decision 2022/2005 was published informing about non-approval of methylene dithiocyanate as an existing active substance for use in biocidal products of product-type 12 (slimicides) in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 528/2012. The environmental risk assessment revealed possibiities of occurance of unacceptable risks due to exposure to methylene dithiocyanate and no suitable risk mitigation measure could be identified,
