A roadmap for the chemical sector to become carbon neutral, circular, and increasingly digital by 2050 has been released by the EU.
The industry estimates that additional spending in the tens of billions of euros will be required for this change to be financially viable. This serves as a roadmap for the industry to achieve the goals of the European Green Deal.
The report looks at the rules controlling the chemical industry's research and innovation, digitization, and sustainable development. The three main subjects that will be explored are innovative collaboration, the availability of renewable energy and the variety of raw materials.
