Singapore seeking public opinion on target of achieving net zero emission by 2050

September 5, 2022

From September 5, 2022, Singapore's National Climate Change Secretariat (NCCS) is seeking public comments on setting the national target of achieving net zero carbon emission by 2050 as proposed by the government. This is to align with the targets of climate change mitigation set after joining the Glasgow climate pact in 2021. Currently, more than 60 countries, including Australia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, the UK, the U.S. and Vietnam, have pledged to achieve net zero by 2050; Indonesia, China and some other countries by 2060; and India by 2070.
