Study reveals high exposure to PFAS can cause liver cancer

In a research study conducted to examine the associations of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) exposure, altered metabolic pathways, and risk of non-viral hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), it was found that exposure to high perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS) levels would result in 4.5 fold increase risk of HCC.
