The U.S. EPA has annoced to settle disputes with two New Jersey companies accused of violating federal laws on distribution and sale of Zoono Microbe Shield (a registered pesticide) which was falsely and misleadingly being claimed to be effective and suitable for use as a disinfectant or sanitizer, including against the virus that causes COVID-19. As per penalty provisions specified in the FIFRA, the firms will pay $205,000 and $120,000 as penalty amounts to the EPA.
