California's Department of Pesticide Regulation, Environmental Protection Agency, and Department of Food and Agriculture have collaborated to create a roadmap for the state's transition to sustainable pest control in both rural and urban areas.
Over the course of almost two years, a wide variety of stakeholders from conventional and organic agriculture, urban settings, community and environmental organisations, tribes, researchers, and government worked together to design the roadmap. To better safeguard the health of our people and the environment while supporting agriculture, food systems, and community well-being, the roadmap intends to bring about sustainable pest control and eradicate priority high-risk pesticides by 2050.
