Canada to consider five substances of Siloxanes group for action under the CMP

The Government of Canada has identified five substances of siloxanes group namely Hexamethyldisiloxane (L2), Decamethyltetrasiloxane (L4), Dodecamethylpentasiloxane (L5), Cyclotrisiloxane (D3) and Divinyltetramethyldisiloxane (dvTMDS) for action under the third phase of Chemicals Management Plan (CMP). The final assessment about these substances was published on December 09, 2023. Two other substances namely quadrosilan and cyclomethicone were initially identified as part of the Siloxanes Group, but were later determined to be of low concern to human health and the environment.
