EPA published Final Report and Meeting Minutes of 1,4-Dioxane

On 16th of November, 2023, the Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals (SACC) were released the virtual public meeting minutes and final report by EPA. The meeting was organized to address the draft supplement to the risk evaluation for 1,4-dioxane, one of the first ten chemicals to be evaluated under the amended TSCA. EPA reached out to SACC for an external peer review on several topics, such as: demonstrating concentrations of 1,4-dioxane in surface water and groundwater, exposure from multiple sources of 1,4-dioxane in air or water, sources of environmental releases from hydraulic fracturing operations, application of occupational exposure simulation methods and monitoring data for industrial and commercial operations.
