Ohio's city Painesville council has passed a six-month ban on new e-cigarette and marijuana businesses, citing public health and safety concerns. The City Management Report announced the ban will allow time for assessing the qualitative and regulatory aspects of the relevant areas. The report also highlighted concerns about the number, size, and geographic location of these establishments. City Manager Doug Lewis stated that officials will present their findings to the city council over the next six months and will "make every effort" to complete the work within the designated timeframe. The report expresses growing concerns about the impact on public health, particularly among young individuals, and emphasizes the potential health risks associated with e-cigarettes.
