Philippines Implements Stricter Regulations on Selling E-Cigarettes to Minors

March 1, 2024

The Philippines' Negros Oriental province trade department has issued a warning to merchants about selling e-cigarettes to minors, citing serious penalties. The legal age for purchasing e-cigarettes has been lowered from 21 to 18 years old, in line with the 'Republic Act No. 11900' or the 'Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Vaping Products Control Act'. The ministry is collaborating with a group against e-cigarettes to promote information and prevent addiction. Violations could result in fines of up to 2 million Philippine pesos.
