Risk assessment of Tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate (TCEP) by U.S EPA

December 15, 2023

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released a preliminary risk assessment for tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate (TCEP) and related charges for public comment. The EPA has assessed the risks and exposures associated with TCEP uses and developed risk assessments for TCEP. The deadline for comments on the proposed risk assessment is February 13, 2024. The EPA states that this is the initial draft risk assessment published regarding 20 substances designated as high-priority in 2019. Improvements to the risk evaluation procedure announced in 2021 have been incorporated into the risk evaluation, including an assessment of exposure to subpopulations like subsistence fishermen, children, and workers.
