Virginia Senate Bill 581: Ensuring Timely Access to Feminine Hygiene Products for Female Inmates and Juveniles in Custody

The legislative proposal known as Senate Bill 581 is intended to cater to the particular requirements of female adolescents and female inmates who are in the custody of the division. The most important part of the bill is that these persons are eligible to receive free feminine hygiene items, such as tampons and sanitary napkins.  These items, which include tampons and sanitary napkins for use during the menstrual cycle, should be supplied as soon as practicable, with a maximum wait time of eight hours between each delivery.
