A New Method for Environmental Risk Assessment of Pollutants Based on Multi-Dimensional Risk Factors

October 30, 2022

The journal of toxins published a research article titled “a new method for environmental risk assessment of pollutants based on multi-dimensional risk factors” on 15 September 2022. The study's objective was to assess the risks associated with endocrine disruptors, organophosphate esters, perfluorinated chemicals, and pesticide residues found in surface waters of the rivers of China. In order to assess the risk of compounds in the environment, the Synthetical Risk Factor (SRF) approach presented in this study introduced the environmental persistence coefficient and compartment characteristics of chemicals. The diagnostic results showed that the assessment approach is more accurate at estimating the level of environmental risk posed by unknown risk pollutants, and the data were consistent with those from previously implemented control measures.
