Cal/OSHA Proposes Changes to Update Workplace Exposure to Lead Regulations

The proposed amendments are intended to mitigate these adverse health effects by maintaining blood lead levels below 10 g/dl among employees. (micrograms per deciliter).

To accomplish this reduction in exposure, the revisions would reduce airborne lead exposure, oral lead exposure, and blood lead testing requirements for lead-exposed workers. The revisions also reduce the action levels below a time-weighted average that elicit protective measures.

Interested parties, such as construction industry employers, may submit written comments. The public comment period will remain open until April 20, 2023, for a total of 45 days.
