A EU-wide enforcement project by the ECHA Forum has found that over 2400 products, mostly intended for consumers, were found to contain hazardous chemicals such as lead and phthalates. Over 18% of the inspected products breached EU laws.

Washington's Toxic-Free Cosmetics Act was approved by the Senate Committee on Environment, Energy, and Technology on March 21, 2023. The Fiscal Committee will now consider taking action on it.
The proposed amendments are intended to mitigate these adverse health effects by maintaining blood lead levels below 10 g/dl among employees. (micrograms per deciliter).
The Registry of Restriction Intentions has been updated with addition of lead and its compounds. The limitation applies to the sale and use of lead in lures and sinkers for outdoor fishing as well as projectiles for firearms and airguns.
