Inclusion of E-cigarette Devices in 2024 Inflation Calculation in Indonesia

Indonesia's Central Statistics Agency has included e-cigarette devices in the 2024 inflation calculation due to their significant consumption. The decision was made by Deputy Director of Distribution Statistics, Pudji Ismartini, who stated that changes in societal consumption patterns have led to the inclusion of new goods in the calculation. The city of Ismatini has added 89 new products to the baseline year set by the 2022 cost of living survey, including masks, e-cigarette devices, and e-cigarette liquid.
