The Korean Smoking Cessation Society advocates for increased cigarette prices in South Korea to improve public health and address a significant tax revenue shortfall. However, the current proposal faces opposition. The market share of heated tobacco e-cigarettes has grown, but the tax burden has decreased. The Korean Society for Tobacco Control expects a movement to increase tobacco prices next year.
