South Korea urges manufacturers, importers of certain biocides to renew approval for active substances before December 2022

On August 16, 2022, South Korea's online chemical management system (CHEMP) notified stakeholders about ending of approval grace period of existing active substances used for 5 types of biocidal products (Fungicide, acaricide, antimicrobial and poisonous agent for humidifier, anti-epidemic sterilization for the prevention of infectious diseases) in Group A on December 31, 2022. Manufacturers/importers should renew the active substances approvals before the deadline, failing to do which will be penalized by enforcing prohibitory action on manufacture or import of these substances in South Korea.
