The Eco Beauty Score (EBS) Consortium has launched a public consultation to gather feedback on its methodology and scoring system. The consultation will take place on 28 March, from 12:00-13:30, and will involve experts explaining the development of the methodologies. The EBS Consortium was established in 2021 to develop a harmonised environmental scoring system for cosmetic products based on EU Product Environmental Footprint methodology. The consultation aims to comply with EU antitrust rules, engage with stakeholders, refine the EBS methodology, and strengthen EBS credibility. The consultation is divided into two phases: the first phase, which seeks feedback on the EBS methodology, with a deadline of 29 April 2024, and the second phase, from 17 June -17 July 2024, for stakeholder feedback. The consultation is available on the EBS website and includes an Executive Summary, EBS Guiding Principles and Methodologies, and consultation questions.
