New Zealand's Reporting Requirements for Tobacco and Vaping Products

January 26, 2024

Manufacturers, importers, distributors, and retailers of regulated products such as smoked tobacco, vaping, herbal smoking, and smokeless tobacco products must maintain sales records and submit annual reports and returns to New Zealand's Vaping Regulatory Authority by January 31, 2024. Records must be retained for three years. The enforcement officer will specify in the notice whether the records should be submitted in paper or electronic format, as well as how they should be delivered.
Records would include product purchase/sale information, prices, the product's batch/serial number, and the constituents utilized or expected to be employed in the manufacture of each regulated product. General vape shops will not be required to report their total sales revenue from non-vaping products as part of their return.
