Approving Trihydrogen Pentapotassium Di(Peroxomonosulfate) Di(Sulfate) as an Existing Active Substance for Use in Biocidal Products in Accordance with Regulation (EU) No 528/2012

On January 17, 2024, The Official Journal of the European Union published  regulation which states approval trihydrogen pentapotassium di(peroxomonosulfate) di(sulfate) as an active substance for use in biocidal products of product types 2, 3, 4, and 5 by European commission. The Commission established a list of existing active substances to be evaluated for approval, including pentapotassium bis(peroxymonosulfate)bis(sulfate). Slovakia was designated as the rapporteur Member State, and its evaluating competent authority submitted assessment reports and conclusions to the European Chemicals Agency. The Biocidal Products Committee approved the application for approval on 6 June 2023, stating that biocidal products containing tri hydrogen pentapotassium di(peroxomonosulfate) di(sulfate) may meet EU Regulation criteria. 

This regulation came into force from 6 February 2024.
