On 3rd March 2023, the European Commission adopted approximately 100 new and updated test methods for the safety assessment of chemicals under REACH (Regulation for the registration, evaluation, authorization, and restriction of chemicals). Most of the new test methods are new approach methods (NAMs) which do not involve animals.
