This Regulation lays down some amendments to the Annex to Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008 as regards the test methods to be applied for the purposes of Regulation 1907/2006/EC concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).
Article 13(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 provides that, where tests on substances are required to generate information on intrinsic properties of substances,
they are to be conducted in accordance with the test methods laid down in a Commission Regulation.
Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/20082 contains, in its Annex, test methods recognised as being appropriate for generating information on the physicochemical,
toxicological and eco-toxicological properties of chemicals for the purpose of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006.
