EDC-Free Europe coalition calls for EU REACH reform with no further delay

March 13, 2023

The EDC-Free Europe coalition urges the European Commission to present its targeted revision proposals for the REACH regulation without further delay. Less than twenty substances have been identified as substances of very high concern (SVHC) due to their endocrine-disrupting properties, despite REACH dictating how the European Union registers, evaluates, authorizes, and restricts chemicals entering and being used on the EU market.

Recent findings from the HBM4EU study affirm the contamination of EU citizens with EDCs and other chemicals, as well as the negative health effects of these chemical mixtures. To uphold the commitments of the European Green Deal and attain a toxin-free environment, it is essential that the regulation undergo the required legal modifications.
