EU: More than a dozen CMR designated chemicals to be heavily restricted, banned

On September 15, 2022, the European Commission published Commission Regulation (EU) 2022/1531, namely the Omnibus Act V imposing bans and restrictions on more than a dozen carcinogenic, mutagenic or reproductive toxic (CMR) substances, and updated the EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 Annex II, Annex III and Annex V relevant provisions. The regulation comes into force 20 days from the date of publication, with the ban on CMR substances coming into force on December 17, 2022.
