Lebanese Tobacco Authority Rejects Tobacco Tax Hike Proposal

During an event titled "A Lifetime We Lived Together," Nassif Seklaoui, general manager of the Lebanese Tobacco and Tombacs Authority (RLTT), criticized ideas to raise tobacco taxes in order to increase state revenue. The tax stamp implementation obtained a new ISO accreditation for occupational health and safety, and it welcomed technological advancements by releasing an app to help farmers at every stage of the process, with a focus on early tobacco crop procurement.
