December 4, 2023

The Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) leader, Leonid Slutsky, has proposed imposing heavier fines on individuals, public officials, and corporations for selling cigarettes and e-cigarettes to minors. The proposed amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses (KoAП) in Russia would range from 60,000 to 200,000 rubles for individuals, 300,000 to 400,000 rubles for public officials, and 600,000 to 800,000 rubles for legal entities. Slutsky believes current sanctions are insufficient and proposes strengthening penalties for repeat violations.
